Jeff Schaffer is a writer, producer, filmmaker and television director. He has also worked with several famous writers and producers such as David Mandel, Alec Berg, and Larry David. Furthermore, Jeff is famous for being a writer for Comedy Central’s MTV TV show Give Me Back My Life!, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and Seinfeld. In addition, he is also famous for working on hit comedies such as Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Eurotrip.
Jeff was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. He completed his high school education at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio. He later enrolled at Harvard College, where he was on the staff of the humor publication The Harvard Lampoon. Immediately after college, he, along with Alec Berg and David Mandel, wrote several episodes of the sitcom Seinfeld. During its ninth season, Schaffer served as an executive producer.

In addition to serving as an executive producer, Schaffer worked as a director on several episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm. He is most famous for being the show director for “Seinfeld,” the seventh season finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm, which featured a reunion of the original Seinfeld cast. Prior to this, he and his wife Jackie Schaffer also created another sitcom called The League, which is “a semi-improvised series.”
Schaffer also worked with Dave Burd to create Dave, a sitcom that is loosely based on Burd’s life as a rapper. The show aired on FXX in March 2020, and its second season premiered in June 2021. He has also worked on several comedies, including The Dictator, Bruno, and Euro Trip, a 2004 teen comedy. That same year, he also contributed to the screenplay for the 2003 adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s book The Cat in the Hat.
