Ferguson was born and raised in the suburbs of Missoula, Montana. He grew up as the middle child in their family of three children. Jesse is named after his paternal grandmother named Jessie Uppercue Ferguson. He attended St. Pius X High School, where he was a member of the drama club and performed in several plays.
