Jill Jelnick is an American journalist who has been working as a sports anchor and reporter at FOX17 in Nashville since July 2021. Prior to joining her current station, she worked as a sports anchor and reporter on KCWX and “Sports2Nite”, the only 30 minutes of San Antonio sports show.
While in San Antonio, she covered the Spurs, Cowboys, Texans and Astros. Furthermore, she has covered the 2019 and 2020 World Series as well as the NBA and NFL playoffs. In addition to her sporting role, she was also a host of the Texas travel show “YOLO TX”.
Prior to her time in Texas, she was the weekend sports anchor for the WRCB in Chattanooga. She has covered UT and UTC athletics, and Chattanooga FC. Her most memorable moment was covering the 2018 National College Championship between Alabama and Georgia. In 2016, she was named AP Sportscaster of the Year.
Born and raised in California, Jill was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship to play Division I softball at East Carolina University, where she played for four years. She later received a BA in English and a Masters in Teaching from East Carolina University. After her university career, she shifted her focus to sports broadcasting. In her spare time, she loves to watch sports as a fan.
