Jimmy Fortune is an American Country Music Singer from Nelson County, Virginia, United States of America. Fortune sang tenor for the Statler Brothers for 21 years and eventually wrote the song Elizabeth for the group. After the group’s retirement, Fortune continues to perform as a solo artist.
He began his career with a group, Statler Brothers in 1982. In the group, he had several privileges, including writing some of the group’s music. Some of the most iconic songs written by Jimmy are: “Elizabeth”, “Too Much on My Heart” and “My Only Love”.
Fortune spent 21 years of her life touring, singing and performing with her teammates. The Statler Brothers; Don, Phil and Harold retired in the year 2002. Later, Jimmy started his solo shows with schedules in the US and Canada. So far, Fortune is doing well in her solo career and has even recorded several projects in Nashville.
In 2015, he released Hits & Hymns produced by Ben Isaacs. The album climbed into the top 10 on Billboard’s Top Country Album Chart. Later, the DVD release of a TV special, “Jimmy Fortune: Hits & Hymns”, hosted by Bill Gaither, reached number one on the Billboard Music Video chart.
