
Jinjin’s biography
Park Jin-woo popularly known by his stage name JinJin, is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, model and actor. He is known as the leader and main rapper of the boy group Astro. He was also a member of the duo JinJin & Rocky. In addition, Jinjin also worked as the host of DIVE Studios’ Unboxing podcast alongside Pentagon’s Kino.
Jinjin attended Hansu Elementary School where he learned his basic education before joining Fantagio as an intern. After that, he enrolled at the NY Dance Academy in Ilsan, where he participated in several competitions. He later transferred to Hanlim Multi Art High School, where he majored in Practical Dance. Right after finishing his dance practice, Park joined Fantagio as an intern, where he worked for three good years. Furthermore, he appeared on KBS’s Hallyu Star & Gangnam Style: Trainee Interview with Cha Eunwoo, Moonbin, and Rocky.
In 2016, he left Fantagio and joined the ASTRO Group, as well as appearing in the web drama To Be Continued alongside his fellow group members. Before joining the group, he released his first EP Spring Up, followed by five tracks like “Hide & Seek”. That year, Jin-woo also appeared on the performance stages of Eric Nam’s song “Can’t Help Myself”. Two years later, he was cast in tvN Asia’s “Wok the World” in Hong Kong. In 2019, Jinjin along with his fellow Astro members composed and released their first full-length album called All Light.

That same year, at his second show, Park performed his song entitled “Mad Max”, which he composed himself. Furthermore, he has also appeared in various shows like Go Together and Travel Alone for Celuv TV. In addition, he composed one of the secondary tracks of the seventh Gateway EP, titled “Lights On”. More recently, Fantagio announced that Jinjin and his bandmate Rocky will form Astro’s second sub-unit called Jinjin & Rocky. They will also release their debut extended play Restore in the same year. Likewise, Park was credited as composer, lyricist and arranger for “Villain”, a single from South Korean group TRENDZ’s first mini-album.
