Joe Scarborough Biography
Joe Scarborough is an American television presenter, lawyer and political commentator, as well as a former politician. Currently, Scarborough is the co-host of Morning Joe, MSNBC along with his wife, Mika Brzezinski. He previously hosted Scarborough Country on the same season. Prior to that, he was a lawyer and politician, serving in the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 2001, serving as a Republican for Florida’s 1st District.
In addition, Joe was a visiting fellow at the Harvard Institute of Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Fortunately, he was named one of the most influential people in the world on the 2011 Team 100.

Joe started his law firm in 1991 in Pensacola, shortly after joining the Florida Bar. His most high-profile case was briefly representing Michael F. Griffin, who murdered Dr. David Gunn in 1993. Joe made several court appearances before leaving the case. In late 1993, Joe’s political profile also rose when he helped with a petition opposing a proposed 65% increase in Pensacola’s property taxes. Fortunately, due to his opposition, the following year he became the first Republican congressional representative in 121 years to be elected from Florida’s 1st District.
During his Congressional career, Scarborough received a 95% lifetime rating from the American Conservative Union, where he signed a contract with America. He has served on the Judiciary, National Security, Armed Services, Government Reform and Oversight, Civil Service, and Education committees. In addition, he was a member of the New Federalists, a small group made up of young congressional Republicans.
