Joel Haslam is a Canadian journalist currently working as a multiskilled journalist at CTV News Ottawa. He has been on broadcast television on CTV News for over 35 years. He is the longtime presenter and producer of Regional Contact on CTV News Ottawa. Regional Contact is a segment that champions the stories of ordinary people involved in extraordinary and inspiring adventures.
His storytelling has been honored numerous times by the Radio-Television News Directors Association in Canada. He is, in fact, a recipient of the prestigious Dave Rogers Award, given to the journalist who produces and reports on the best national television feature. He recently received an Edward R. Murrow International Award.
Haslam is quite erudite and holds a combined degree in Journalism and Political Science from Carleton University.
