John Brown is an American journalist who currently works as an anchor at FOX 35 News and hosts the evening news. Prior to that, he worked at St. Louis, where he was named Best Major Markets News Anchor by the Missouri Broadcasters Association in 2020.
Additionally, he previously anchored Good Day Orlando on the station where he and his co-anchor, Amy Kaufeldt, were nominated for multiple “Best of Orlando” lists during their tenure in Orlando. John was also the host of “The Daily Buzz” a morning talk show on the station and also hosted a radio show “John Brown’s Mindset. He made headlines around the world with his Kardashian “Walk Off” in 2015, which was viewed by many viewers estimated to be over 40 million.
Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, John attended Belle High School in his hometown where he was an outstanding high school athlete. He later received his undergraduate degree from Central Methodist University where he was on the basketball and golf teams.

After his graduation, he started his broadcasting career in 1995 at the WQAM in Miami, Florida. While there, he started as a producer on the morning show, The First Team, with Joe Rose. After that, he was named host of the Morning Show on radio station 95.3, 3WZ (WZWW) in College State, Pennsylvania.
He later started working at KSPR-TV in Springfield, Missouri in 1999, where he was named the morning show anchor of an early news show called The Morning Scoop. In 2003, he was promoted to nightly news anchor. After 5 years of service at this station, he got a job as a host of the nationally syndicated TV show, The Daily Buzz, based in Orlando, Florida.
Furthermore, he became an anchor and reporter for KTVI-TV (FOX 2) in St. Louis, where he also hosted a radio show on KTRS called Brown’s Mindset. However, in late 2009, he returned to Orlando to become the morning anchor of Good Day Orlando. He again left Good Day Orlando in 2016 and returned to KTVI as an evening anchor and political correspondent. In early 2021, John returned to FOX 35 as the nightly news anchor and has been here ever since.
