Joleen Chaney Biography
Joleen Chaney is an American journalist who currently works as a reporter and newscaster for KFOR News 4 since joining the station in June 2007. This was also the beginning of her television career after she walked in on the street one a day and became an intern. Within a week, she was hired behind the scenes as a weekend writer and assignment editor.
Three months later, she landed her first on-air job as a morning anchor at KAUZ-TV in Wichita Falls, TX, during her senior year of college at Cameron University, where she was involved in the Honors Program. Within a year, she was back at KFOR-TV as an anchor and reporting the news. From June 2014 to June 2016, she worked at another local television station, but returned to KFOR again as the 4 p.m. weekday anchor and was later promoted to lead evening anchor after Linda Cavanaugh’s retirement.
She is also a sixth-generation Oklahoman, born in Farview and raised in Springs. She is currently a professional storyteller, telling the stories of Oklahomans every day on KFOR News 4. In her off-duty days, she enjoys running and hiking. A lifelong athlete, she has participated in and emceed races throughout the state, and volunteers at events benefiting Oklahoma.
