Jon Erickson biography
Jon Erickson is an Emmy Award-winning journalist currently based in northeast Wisconsin as a co-anchor of NBC 26 Live at 10. In May 2017, he became a member of the station’s staff.
Erickson graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Journalism and Finance in 2008. In 2014, Jon jumped from the 100th to the 12th TV market. He discovered information in Phoenix that revealed that a charter school district had broken open meeting regulations; the district management accepted the error and modified its policy. In addition, he traveled across the state, reporting wildfires and dust storms. He found that some of Phoenix’s wealthiest families were years behind on their fire tax payments.
Erickson served as a weekend anchor and head reporter in New Bern, North Carolina, before moving to Phoenix. He won two Associated Press Best News Writer awards while in North Carolina.
