Jonas Blue is an English disc jockey (DJ), record producer, songwriter, and remixer. He lives in London and produces music that mainly mixes dance with pop.
Jonas Blue Biography
The producer was born and raised in London, England on August 2, 1989, as Guy James Robin, but prefers to use his stage name “Jonas Blue”, probably because he felt it had a nicer sound than his real name. His musical talent showed up at a very young age. When he was about seven or eight years old he learned to play different instruments like flute and saxophone. When he grew up, he “caught the DJ bug”, but he also wanted to be able to create the music he was spinning.

His Career Journey
In 2015, Jonas released his debut single, a tropical house cover of Fast Car, a 1988 single by Tracy Chapman, and fortunately for him, the single with Dakota, whose sultry vocals played a big part in bringing the song to the top of 17 international charts, became the miracle he needed to make his career explode. His version of the song took second place in the UK singles charts, just behind Pillowtalk by Zayn Malik. He kept his top spot for 11 weeks. With its position at number two on the UK charts, the single was higher than the original version of the song, which settled at number 5 on the charts in May 1988 and at number 4 after the re-release in April 2011.
The remix continued to reach #1 on iTunes in Germany, Sweden, Australia, and New Zealand, and also reached #1 on the US virus charts on Spotify. And that’s not all! Fast Car also went platinum in the UK, Italy, New Zealand (2× platinum) and Australia (3× platinum).
The track has been streamed more than 580 million times on Spotify and seen more than 310 million times on Vevo.
In 2016, the rising star became the best-selling British singles artist of the year after releasing two more singles, Perfect Strangers (released on June 3, 2016) and By Your Side (released on October 28, 2016). Perfect Strangers landed in the top ten internationally and to this day is certified platinum in the UK, double platinum in Australia and gold in New Zealand. As a result of the track, Jonas Blue reached 1 billion streams through his tracks and videos. With this huge success, he dwarfed Zayn Malik and Olly Murs as he surpassed them in the charts.
The following year, on 5 May 2017, Jonas Blue released the song Mama with Australian pop singer William Singe.
