Josh Jackson is a pro-American basketball shooting keeper/small striker associated with the Pheonix Suns of the NBA. The outstanding player was selected in the 2017 draft after only one season of giant strides with the Kansas University basketball team. The Shooting Guard was born Joshua O’Neal Jackson on February 10, 1997, in San Diego, California. His mother, Apple Jones, is a black American and served in the US Navy. There is no information about his biological father, but he was raised by his stepfather, Clarence Jones. Josh inherited his wonderful skills from his mother; she played basketball while studying at the University of Texas. Jackson’s stepfather is also a basketball player and he died in 2014 while competing in a tournament in Las Vegas.

Coming from a sporting background, Jackson also developed a passion for basketball at a very young age. He attended College Prep School in Detroit, Michigan, where he played basketball for two seasons before transferring to Justin-Siena High School for the remaining two seasons of his high school career.

During his high school career, Josh won the MVP of the McDonald’s All-American Game and was named to the McDonald’s All-American team in 2016. Jackson continued to enroll in the University of Kansas for his college career. He is undoubtedly one of the most decorated freshmen in the history of Kansas basketball. He finished the season with a record of 7.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 16.3 points per game. At the end of the season, he was elected to the All-American Freshman Team, the first-team All-Big 12, the All-American Third Team, and the All-American Second Team. In equal parts, he won the Big 12 Freshman of the Year, while giving up the remaining three seasons of his college career to enter the NBA in 2017.

NBA Career

Jackson was listed among the top prospects for the 2017 draft and he showed an impressive performance during the NBA combine trials. However, during the draft, he was selected by the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the draft. He was the fourth player selected behind Lonzo Ball, Jayson Tatum, and Markelle Fultz.

After signing with the Suns in July 2017, Josh Jackson made his first appearance for the Suns in the NBA Summer League, where he averaged 9.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 17.4 points per game. Following his outstanding performance, Jackson was appointed to the All-SUmmer Lague First Team that year. The player also made his first NBA appearance against the Los Angeles Clippers on October 18, 2017.
