
Biography of Judy Ann Santos
Judy Anne Lumagui Santos is a Filipino actress, presenter, product endorser, and film producer. She is known for her comedic and dramatic roles in independent films and blockbusters, as well as her portrayals of oppressed and impoverished women. In addition, Lumagui has received several awards, including the Cairo International Film Festival Award, a Gawad Urian, two Luna Awards, two Metro Manila Film Festival Awards, and three FAMAS Awards.
Lumagui was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. She completed her primary and secondary education in Quezon City. Judy started her acting career at the age of 8 when she played a minor role in the television series Kaming Mga Ulila. She subsequently appeared in the children’s television series Ula, Ang Batang Gubat in 1988. Since then Ann has appeared in numerous supporting roles in films such as Impaktita, Regal Shocker: The Movie and Dyesebel. Santos became best known when she and Gladys Reyes starred in the telenovela Mara Clara in 1992.

Additionally, Ann received critical acclaim for her role as a woman with dissociative identity disorder in the psychological drama Sabel, for which she won a Gawad Urian and Golden Screen Award for Best Actress. She also appeared as the title character in the superhero series Krystala, in which she received the Star Award for Best Actress for the series. After a year away from the screen, Santos appeared in three productions in 2006. Her first release was Don’t Give Up on Us, a romantic drama set in Baguio and Sagada that reunited her with Bernal and Pascual.
The biggest breakthrough of his career came after the release of Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo which became a successful commercial grossing ₱140 million at the box office. For her role, Santos received the FAMAS, Golden Screen, Luna, Metro Manila Film Festival and Star Award for Best Actress. In addition to her acting career, Ann is also a chef, restaurateur and cookbook author. She is a co-owner of a Filipino restaurant in Malate, Manila which opened in May 2019.
