Kamalani Dung is an American softball pitcher, model, and actress, reportedly the wife and girlfriend of a famous American baseball pitcher named Shohei Ohtani, who currently plays for the Los Angeles of Major League Baseball (MLB). Dung currently plays as a right-handed professional softball pitcher who pitches for the Puerto Rican national softball team and the Athletes Unlimited Softball League. She also holds a gold medal for her amazing skills and is now ranked as Hawaii’s top female professional pitcher.
Dung was born into a mixed Puerto Rican and Chinese family living in Wlanae, Hawaii. She grew up as a very active child who enjoyed watching different games with her parents and siblings. Kamalani attended Kamehameha School, where she started playing competitive softball at age 10. She also followed youtube videos to perfect her pitches because she is a self-taught pitcher. Dung then became a varsity star for four years and captain of her school’s baseball team. His most famous career height is achieving 86 strikeouts, seven whoops and an 11-1 record in his senior year of high school.
After high school, Kamalani enrolled at Fresno State to study business administration. She also made her debut as a D1 collegiate athlete in the NCAA on October 22, 2015, against USSAA Pride. Dung then transferred to the University of California, where he majored in Sociology.
Despite playing several games as a pitcher throughout her college years, Dung began her professional career in 2020 when she was selected in the National pro Fast Pitch for Cliforna Commotion and Atlethes Unlimited softball Leagues in Chicago. In 2018, she played semi-professionally for Cidade de Juncos of the Higher League competition in Purto Rica. This led to the Puro Roco women’s national softball team accepting Dung after her tryouts the same year. She was able to record top school for the team during the 2018 USA international cup, Central American and Caribbean games, and much more. Dung now plays for the Atletes Unlimted Professional Sports League in the United States.
