Katie Mckee is an American journalist who currently works as a traffic reporter for Channel 6’s Good morning Columbus. She joined the Good morning Columbus bus in June 2017 after spending time working for other news outlets in the Southeast.
Mckee attended and graduated from Ohio University with a degree in political science in 2009. After his graduation, Mckee joined the Atlanta Broadcast Institute to hone his skills in video editing and broadcast operations.
Her first reporting opportunity was at FOX Affiliate in Columbia, South Carolina. While there, she broke a story about a missing 15-year-old girl named Gabbie Swainson. That story ended up making national headlines.
She stayed in Columbia for 3 years, finishing her time in the Palmetto State at NBC affiliate WIS. There, she worked as a morning reporter and anchored the noon newscast. In 2015, she moved to Jacksonville, Florida for a reporting position at CBS/FOX. During her time in Florida, she spent a week in Orlando, where she covered the Pulse Nightclub shooting as well as Hurricane Matthew and the storm’s aftermath. She is currently in the early morning hours weekdays from 4:25 to 8:30 a.m. on Good Day Columbus.
