Katie Mckee is an American journalist who currently works as a traffic reporter for Channel 6’s Good day Columbus. She joined the Good day Colum bus in June 2017 after spending time working for other media outlets in the Southeast.
Mckee attended and graduated from Ohio University in political science in 2009. After graduation, Mckee joined the Atlanta Broadcast Institute to hone his skills in video editing and broadcast operations.
His first reporting opportunity was at FOX Affiliate in Columbia, South Carolina. While there, she told the story of a missing 15-year-old girl named Gabbie Swainson. This story ended up making national headlines.
She stayed at Columbia for 3 years, finishing her time at Palmetto State on NBC Affiliate WIS. There she worked as a morning reporter and midday news anchor. In 2015, she moved to Jacksonville Florida for a reporter position at CBS/FOX. During her time in Florida, she spent a week in Orlando where she covered Pulse Night Club Shooting as well as Hurricane Mattew and the aftermath of the storm. She is currently on weekdays from 4:25 am to 8:30 am at Good Day Columbus.
