Kelly Avellino is a renowned American journalist who currently serves as a news anchor for NBC12 News Today Saturday and a multimedia journalist for NBC12 News in Richmond, Virginia. Prior to joining NBC12 News, Kelly worked as a reporter, weekend anchor and producer at NBC11 News for two years.
Avelino attended Montclair State University and later graduated with a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Columbia University. After graduation, she spent several years working behind the camera for News 12 Networks in NJ/NY and the former New Jersey, United States, Network News.
Kelly began her career as a reporter on long-range stories, from the Black Lives Matter protests to the murder of UVA student Hannah Graham by a serial killer.
