Kelly Dudzik biography
Kelly Dudzik is an Emmy-winning journalist and currently works as a Midday anchor at WGRZ and as a reporter for Most Buffalo, First at Five and Channel 2 News at 6. She joined the station’s roaster in 2013.
Dudzik graduated with a double degree in Broadcasting and Political Science at Syracuse University from the SI Cum Laude Newhouse School of Public Communications. She also served as the news director for Student TV Stations, UUTV, in college.
Kelly came to KLRT’s WGRZ in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she was the anchor of the weekend evening news. Kelly covered the ongoing desegregation case at Pulaski County Schools extensively while in Arkansas. She also covered tornadoes and ice storms, both of which were devastating.
Dudzik began her on-air career as an anchor and executive producer on Big Sky Country at KFBB in Great Falls, Montana. As the KFBB team was significantly smaller than Channel 2, Kelly was sometimes the only person in the newsroom outside of the sporting director, so time management and multitasking skills were essential. Kelly worked as a producer for WBRE in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and WXIX FOX19 in Cincinnati in the early years of her career.
Additionally, Kelly won a Mid-America Emmy Award for breaking news in 2011, and her reporting has also been recognized by the Associated Press. Kelly was also a member of the Channel 2 News First at Five teams in 2015, which won a New York Emmy for best daytime news, and the 2015 Channel 2 News Tonight team, which won the award for best nightly news.
Additionally, Kelly asked tough questions of local officials and reported on everything from education to health, sports and all the fantastic things happening at WNY, as well as her role as an anchor for the WGRZ.
