Kevin Gregory is an American journalist who currently works for WRTV in Indianapolis, Indiana as a broadcast meteorologist. He began working at RTV6 in August 1989. Gregory has also worked at WLFI-TV in Lafayette, Indiana, and WCIA-TV in Champaign, Illinois.
Gregory is a Purdue University Phi Beta Kappa graduated in Telecommunications. He also holds a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. In 1987, Purdue University honored him with the Big Ten Medal of Honor. The award is given to the best male and female student-athletes in each Big Ten school. While at Purdue, Kevin was an All-Big Ten tennis player.
Additionally, Kevin got the Certified broadcast meteorologist (CBM) from the American Meteorological Society, which is awarded to broadcast meteorologists who achieve certain standards of scientific competence and excellent communication in their meteorological presentations.
CBM certification is sought after by radio and television meteorologists as a badge of distinction and recognition. Furthermore, he belongs to National Meteorological Association.
Additionally, Kevin spends much of his free time in the community, teaching the next generation about the weather. Over the previous 18 years, he has visited hundreds of elementary schools and now hosts Kevin’s Weather Camp every July. Since its inception, around 2,000 children have attended the camp, and every December it organizes the RTV6 Toy Drive to help families in need during the holidays.
