It is tougher than the hard, strong, fast, and fearless, a hard club that can take many punches without showing signs of submission or calling for a truce. He is Khabib Nurmagomedov, former two-time World Combat Sambo Champion, a black belt in judo, and UFC lightweight champion, the first Russian to win the title of the longest unbeaten series in MMA history and the first Muslim to win a UFC title. This guy fears no one, and here we will not fear him either. We will meet him, at least for the safety of our readers and writers. We will get close enough to him to get to know his background, who he is married to, and how much his victories in martial arts have strained his fortune. So if you are brave enough, read on.

Khabib Nurmagomedov Bio, Religion

Not many people may have heard of the village of Sildi in the Tsumadinsky district of Dagestan. But for Khbib, who is of Avar origin, this was the place where he was born in Russia on September 20, 1988. After some time he moved with his parents to the capital of the country, Makhachkala, and later to Kirovaul, where his father converted the first floor of their two-story building into a gymnasium. Students came there to train, and from there, his interest in martial arts began. When he was older, the family later moved to Kiev in Ukraine and he began training as a martial dobro.

At the age of 6 years, he started ring training, which was led by his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedow, a Judo and Sambo champion and army veteran. He wrestled at the age of 12, switched to Judo at 15, and started fight training in Sambo at 17 because his father wanted him to compete in a Gi jacket. As expected, Khabib often got involved in street brawls before deciding to channel his energy into mixed martial arts (MMA).

He made his MMA debut in 2008 and from the beginning, he scored four consecutive victories within a month. He became the first champion of the Atrium Cup tournament and remained unbeaten for the next three years, marking his M-1 global debut as the ProFC’s rising star through both technical knockout victories and submissions. This record was too impressive to be ignored by the Ultimate Fight Championship (UFC).

Khabib Nurmagomedov came to the UFC at the end of 2011 with a contract for 6 fights to compete in the UFC’s lightweight class. He then debuted with the UFC on January 20, 2012, on FX 1 with a victory over Kamal Shalorus, who accepted in the third round of the duel by the submission that he was no match for the Russian. Khabib continued his winning streak, defeating everything that stood in his way, either by unanimous decision, TKO, or submission. Such as Gleison Tibau, Thiago Tavares, Abel Trujillo, Pat Healy, Rafael Dos Anjos, Michael Johnson, and Edson Barboza all fell under the fury of his punches and kicks and became rungs on the ladder of his MMA success in obedience.

Khabib, or the Eagle, as he is sometimes called, became UFC Lightweight Champion on April 7, 2018, after winning against Al Iaquinta after Tony Ferguson and Max Holloway dropped out of their scheduled fights with him due to injuries and extreme weight loss, respectively. His championship fight against Iaquinta was a one-sided fight as he dominated the entire match against Iaquinta, who was two-tenths of a pound over the championship weight.
