Khalid Donnel Robinson is a renowned American singer-songwriter currently signed to Right Hand Music Group and RCA Records. Khalid started composing and making music in high school, where he presented his early work on SoundCloud. In July 2016, it reached number two on Billboard’s Twitter Emerging Artists list. He released a two-part collaboration with vocalist Normani called “Love Lies”, recorded for the soundtrack of the movie Love, Simon, which reached the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 of 2018. “Love Lies” was the first number one. of all artists on the US pop songs chart and completed in the top 20 of the 2018 Billboard Hot 100 Year-End Chart.
In May 2018, he declared “Youth” in a joint effort with Canadian artisan Shawn Mendes. The song was featured in Mendes’ self-titled collection and contains references to the social and political environment of the time. Mendes and Khalid performed “Youth” at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on May 20, 2018, as a tribute to victims of gun brutality.
