Kim, who has been ruling the country since 2011 and is also the leader of the Workers’ Party of Korea, continues to play an important role in world politics and world peace, mainly due to the military strength of the country. Here you can find out everything about him.

Kim Jong-un Bio

It was on January 8, 1984, when Kim was born in North Korea. Although he grew up in the country where he was raised, Kim left home for his education.

He went to Switzerland to attend the Liebefeld Steinhölzli State School, which he did as the son of a North Korean official. The name he used there was Pak-un. He was not good with academics, but he was good at sports. His next educational institution was Kim Il Sung University in his home country, followed by Kim Il Sung Military University.

After the death of his father in 2011, Kim Jong-un took over the reins of the East Asian nation. He took power in front of his brother, who fell out of favor with his father after he tried to sneak out of the country to watch Disneyland in Japan.

Since he took over power Jong-un has been working on establishing his power at home by the alleged murder of his uncle and in the world by showing off his nuclear power. Nonetheless, after a Twitter fight with the American president Donald Trump that led to insults, both decided to meet in 2018 and work towards denuclearizing the country and ending the Korean War that has been going on for over 60 years.

Family: Father, Sister, and Brother

As already mentioned, the leader of North Korea before 2011 was Kim Jong-il, the father of Kim Jong-un, who was allowed to rule the country after the death of his father Kim Il-sung. The mother of Kim Jong-un was Ko Young-hui. Before her death in 2004, she was regarded as the mother of Great Songun Korea.

Although the favorite child of his father, Kim Jong-un was not raised as an only child, as his father had other children, including his sister Kim Yo-Jong and his brother Kim Jong Chol. The problem that the late leader had with Kim Jong Chol was that he behaved like a woman and that he, therefore, loved Kim Jong-un, the younger of the two.

Since it is said that the former leader had at least three wives, it is assumed that the North Korean Supreme Leader also had half-brothers and sisters, including Kim Jong-Nam, who was allegedly poisoned by two women at the Kuala Lumpur airport in Malaysia. Jong-Nam’s death was the result of a chemical poison that is said to be the most powerful of all nerve poisons.

North Korea insisted that the two women who last came into contact with Jong-Nam were responsible for his death, many insisted that Kim Jong-un had something to do with it. This is because Jong-Nam wasn’t only the oldest of her father’s sons, he was supposed to be the rightful heir to the throne until he lost it. It gets even more interesting when you consider that Jong-Nam said that his brother was a joke to become the leader of North Korea and that Jong-un wouldn’t stay in power.

Soon thereafter, Elder Kim didn’t lose all of his claims, but he also had to fight hard to stay alive after several attacks on his life. After his death, Kim Jong-Nam left behind a wife and a son.

While the North Korean dictator was very close to his sister who was born on September 26, 1989, and whom he used in some political activities, and made her the deputy director of the Propaganda and Agitation Department of the Workers’ Party of Korea, he has another half-sister who was born of his father’s first wife. Her name is Kim Sul Song.

She is a graduate of Kim Il-sung University and is said to have been born between 1985 and 1989. Although they had been married for some time, they were not seen together in public until 2012.

The couple’s first child was born in 2009 before information surfaced that a daughter was born after the first child. The daughter, Kim Ju-ae, was born in 2013. The daughter’s name was leaked by Dennis Rodman, who has become a very close friend of the North Korean leader. Apart from the first child and Kim Ju-ae, it is believed that there may be another child.

Height and Weight

Like almost everything else about Kim, his size is also not without controversy. Officially, he is supposed to be 1.5 meters 7 inches tall, but a picture of himself and South Korean leader Moon Jae-In showed that the latter is a bit taller, even though he is said to be 1.5 meters 6 inches tall. Therefore, it is assumed that Jong-un could just as well be 5 feet 5 inches tall.

Concerning his weight, the North Korean Supreme Leader has a bodyweight of 136 KG (300 lbs).
