Larry Madowo is an award-winning Kenyan journalist, writer and speaker, currently a correspondent for CNN International based in Kenya’s capital Nairobi. He previously served as a US correspondent for the BBC and was also a breaking news anchor and hosted BBC World News America live from Washington, D.C.

Madowo began his career as an intern at a vernacular radio station Bahasha FM reading English-language news in 2007. He then dropped out of college to work at Kenya Television Network, one of Africa’s oldest private television networks. After working for 3 years, Larry has made a household name for himself. He left the station for NTV, where he served as a business anchor and reporter.
In May 2012, Larry joined South Africa-based CNBC Africa as one of their main anchors of the market day shows Open Exchange, Power Lunch and Closing Bell.
