Lauren Leamanczyk is an American journalist who currently works as the 5 pm news anchor and investigative reporter at KARE11 in Minneapolis, United States of America. Prior to joining her current station, she worked as an investigative reporter and anchor at WBZ-TV in Boston. Leamanczyk attended and graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism.
She joined WBZ in June 2011 as a general assignment reporter before being promoted to investigative reporter and anchor in June 2014. While there, she covered major stories including the Boston Marathon bombings and Hurricane Sandy.
Lauren also worked as a general assignment reporter for WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee from October 2004 to June 2011. She then worked for WKOW-TV and was a political junkie in 2008. Most notably, she is thrilled to be working in the Twin Cities.
Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards and nominations. She is a nationally awarded leader in local news and information serving the greater Minneapolis-ST area. Additionally, she has been honored 17 times with the National Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Journalism from the Radio-TV Digital News Association.
