Lisa Hernandez is an American journalist who currently works as a full-time 4:30 to 7:00 AM broadcaster and news anchor/reporter at NBC affiliate KPRC-TV in Houston, Texas since June 2020. Previously, she worked as a news anchor on KHOU 11, a CBS affiliate from October 2011 to January 2020.
Hernandez attended the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating in Political Science and Broadcast Journalism in 2001. His primary and secondary education is still incomplete. However, she started her career a year later in 2002 as a producer for morning shows at KESQ, CBS Local 2 and KUNA in Palm Desert, California.
However, she was also a morning reporter at News 14 Carolina in Charlotte, North Carolina for 11 months before accepting the position at KABC Channel 7 Eyewitness News in Glendale, California. At KABC, Lisa served as a weekend morning anchor and weekday reporter. In addition, she has covered a variety of stories such as cartel violence on the border, disastrous fires and landslides.
Furthermore, she covered the Michael Jackson memorial service which was packed in Los Angeles. Lisa also performed pre-shows at the Academy Awards, early morning and late night camps for Pasadena’s Rose Parade and the Lakers’ three championship parades. She is very passionate and in her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her family. Lisa also enjoys running, where she has participated in seven marathons, including 3 consecutive Boston Marathons.
