Biography of Livinia Nixon
Livinia Nixon is an Australian television presenter and actress who currently works as the Chief Weather Presenter for Nine News Melbourne. She studied and graduated from Lauriston Girls’ School. She later attended Deakin University where she studied and graduated.
She began her television career in 1995 in an advertisement for Physical skimmed milk. Livinia then joined GTV-9 in 1997. She also appeared on the children’s show Plucka’s Place in 1997 before moving to the iconic Australian show Hey Hey It’s Saturday, officially joining the show in 1997 as a co-host. However, the show was cancelled in 1999.
She also worked in radio on Nova 100 in Melbourne. Additionally, she hosted the drive-by on TT FM with Ed Phillips for 18 months. During this time, she developed her on-air relationship with Phillips. This led to them hosting the revamped version of Sale of the Century called Temptation. She also appeared on Today.
Nixon has also submitted stories for Gateway from Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and Around Australia. In 2009, she appeared on both Hey Hey It’s Saturday reunion specials. She has been the main weekday weather presenter for Nine News Melbourne since 2004. In 2011, she replaced Jaynie Seal as weather presenter on Nine Afternoon News. In July 2020, she joined Nine Radio to present weekend breakfasts on 2UE 954, Magic 1278, 4BH 882 and 6GT DAB+.
Nine announced that she will be presenting Carols by Candelight with David Campbell in November 2020. Due to COVID-19, it was announced that she would be performing with Eddie McGuire.
