Although Lou Williams is not listed as one of the best players in the National Basketball Association (NBA), there is no doubt that he is one of the coolest players in the league. In his thirteenth season in the NBA, we have watched his impressive range of plays, seen him score high career points, assist and score 3 points per game. He was also named 6th NBA player twice in 2015 and 2018, making him the Man of the Year.
Williams is one of the very few players to have been elected from high school to the NBA without having gone through college, as he stated after high school for the NBA Draft. The Philadelphia 76ers voted him the 45th overall player selected for the 2005 NBA Draft.

He spent seven full seasons with the 76ers before moving to the Atlanta Hawks, where he spent two seasons before moving to the Toronto Raptors in 2014 alongside Lucas Nogueira in exchange for John Salmons and selection for the second round of next season. He has also played for the Los Angeles Lakers, the Houston Rockets. Currently, Lou plays for the Los Angeles Clippers. He has been a member of the team since 2017.

Lou was born on October 27, 1986, in Memphis, Tennessee, as Louis Tyrone Williams. He is one of his parents’ three children – Willie Louis Williams and Janice Faulkner – and was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He has a sister named Shaun Haynes and a brother named Taurus Stinnett.
He attended South Gwinnett High School, where he played basketball under coach Roger Fleetwood High School. During his junior season, he led his school team to the 5A Georgia State Championship. He earned Georgia’s Mr. Basketball title and was a 4-time All-State pick.
During his senior season, he earned the McDonald’s All-American, a first-team Parade All-American, and also won the Naismith Prep Player of the Year award. Aside from finishing his career as the second top scorer ever in the history of high school basketball in Georgia, Lou Williams was also the #3 Shooting Guard and the #7 Player of the Year in 2005.

NBA Career
William did below expectations in his training, so he found himself in the second round of the draft round and was finally voted 45th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers.
He played thirty games in his rookie and finished the season with an average of 1.9 points and .3 assists. The next season he was sent off the field for the Fort Worth Flyers in the Development League. After an impressive season in the D-League, Lou was called back to the 76ers. At the end of the 2007-08 season, Lou Williams became a restricted free player.
He later signed a 5-year contract to stay with Philadelphia. The contract was worth 25 million dollars. In the 2011/2012 season, he led the team with an average of 14.9 points per game in the scoring. At the end of the season, he was named runner-up for the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award.
The 2011/2012 season marked the end of his seven seasons with the 76ers. In July 2012 he signed a contract with the Atlanta Hawks. After two seasons with the Hawks, he was transferred to the Toronto Raptors in 2014 along with Lucas Nogueira in exchange for John Salmons and the selection for the second round of the next season. During his time at the Raptors, he scored a career-high of 36 points in a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In 2015, he was named the sixth man of the year in the NBA, making him the first Toronto Raptors player to receive this award. In the same year, he signed a 3-year contract with the Los Angeles Lakers worth $21 million.

After two seasons with the Lakers, Lou Williams was transferred to the Houston Rockets in February 2017 in exchange for Small Forward/Shooting Guard Corey Brewer and a first-round 2017 draft pick. In June of the same year, he and other players were bought by the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Chris Paul and a 2018 first-round pick. At the end of the season, he was named the sixth man of the year in the NBA for the second time.
