Lucy Verasamy biography
Lucy Verasamy is a British meteorologist for ITV Weather, ITV Racing and ITV’s Good Morning Britain. Verasamy was born and raised in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
She attended Silfield Primary School in Wymondham and Framlingham College Junior School in Suffolk. After completing primary level, she entered King Edward VII School in King’s Lynn, where she studied A-level geography. Lucy then continued her studies at Brunel University, where she graduated with an honorary Bachelor of Science in Geography.
Shortly after graduating from college, Lucy began her career as a forecaster at the Press Association’s Weather Center. While there, she worked as an international meteorologist and national writer. She worked for the station for four years before moving to SKY and worked as a meteorologist on the ‘SKY News breakfast’ show Sunrise. Verasamy was cast on a new website called the Climate Clinic, where she would answer viewers’ questions in 2007. In addition, she also contributed to the Sky News blog The Weather Girls.

Lucy later left Sky News and joined ITV Breakfast’s newly launched Daybreak program as a meteorologist and environmental correspondent, alongside Kirsty McCabe. Two years later, her partner left, leaving her the only meteorologist on site. But she didn’t stay long before she also left the show. Even after leaving the show, Verasamy continued to lead ITV’s national weather forecasts. In 2017 Verasamy joined the ITV Racing team as a weather specialist whilst still working for ITV.
Also, that same year, she began presenting the weather on ITV’s Good Morning Britain. In 2019, Lucy worked promoting M&S Fresh Market. The following year, she was to co-host a show on ITV called How to Spend It Well on Holiday with Phillip Schofield, but due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the show was postponed.
Verasamy, along with her colleagues, began presenting ITV’s Climate Crisis: Our Changing World in 2020. In addition, she was also featured in the 2021 Marks & Spencer advertising campaign, which featured grilled produce from Marks & Spencer growers and producers.
