Marianne Favro is an American medical reporter/journalist for KNTV-TV (San Jose, CA) and an EMMY Award-winning reporter from the NBC Bay Area. She is named 2006 Reporter of the Year by ‘The Associated Press. Favro also received the Surgeon General’s Award for Best Medical Report.
She also won five Emmy Awards, one for a story about Stanford medical students working with horses to learn how to improve patients’ skills. Her most recent Emmy was for her coverage of the Ghost Ship warehouse fire in Oakland.
Marianne was recently one of the only broadcast journalists with a Knight Fellowship award to participate in a special program for journalists at the Centers for Disease Control. She also completed a marathon to raise money for the Leukemia Society. Favro is also a volunteer with the American Heart Association, the Diabetes Society, and the MS Society.
His other professional achievements include the Golden Microphone Award for Best News. She also won the Radio and TV News Directors Association (RTNDA) Best Serious Film Award for a profile of a local Titanic survivor. In her spare time, she loves mountain biking, diving, traveling and running.
