Mark Dixon Biography
Mark Dixon is an American journalist, meteorologist and reporter who currently works for Channel 3 Eyewitness News at noon and 5:30 pm on weekdays. In addition, Mark has been a part of Channel 3’s Early Warning Forecasting Team since July 2003. Dixon also hosts “Science Sunday,” a segment in partnership with the Connecticut Science Center that airs every weekend.
Dixon participated in the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology.
At Dixon’s young age, he developed an interest in the weather. In Tulsa, he started his career, where he toured and interned. After graduation, he went to Little Rock, Arkansas for his first full-time job. Fortunately, he received an Associated Press award for a summer heat show: Best Weather Section. Mark was highly active in implementing and improving his station’s local weather network.
As Mark grew older, his obsession with the weather persisted. He interned at KJRH-TV when he was in high school. Fortunately, Dixon has been nominated for several prestigious Emmy Awards. It also received the Best Weathercast award from the Connecticut Associated Press Broadcasters.
Additionally, Dixon was an anchor and reporter for Channel 3 Eyewitness News at noon and 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. He has been part of the Channel 3 Early Warning Forecast Team since 2003. He has served in the WFSB “Cool Schools” as a presenter.
When Mark is not working, he likes to spend a lot of time at the gym, running and occasionally swinging his golf clubs. Furthermore, he has completed eight marathons which are: Oklahoma City, Dallas White Rock, Chicago, Austin, St. Louis, Little Rock, Greater Hartford and New York. He is now focusing on 5k, 10k and half marathon distances. He even became interested in the world of triathlon.
