Mark McGhee is a former Scottish professional football player and coach who is currently the manager of Dundee. Mark began his career at Greenock Morton in 1975 and had spells at clubs such as Newcastle United, Aberdeen, Celtic, Hamburg, Reading and IK Brage.
McGhee was a member of the Aberdeen team that won the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and UEFA Super Cup in 1983, as well as three Scottish league titles. Since then, McGhee has managed clubs in England and Scotland, including Reading, Millwall, Aberdeen and Brighton & Hove Albion.
McGhee won another league title in 1984, as well as a hat-trick of Scottish Cup victories from 1982 to 1984. He was also a member of the Aberdeen squad that defeated Real Madrid 2–1 in the Cup Winners’ Cup final. in 1983, with his left cross to John Hewitt to score the winning goal.
