Mark Strehl is an American meteorologist who currently works for FOX 32 in Chicago Illinois and forecasts the weather during the news program Good Day Chicago. When he joined the station, he replaced the legend Harry Volkman and for him, this was a privilege and a great honor as it was the weather legend who inspired him since the fifth grade to become a meteorologist.
Additionally, he attended and graduated from Northern and Southern Illinois University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. He also holds the AMS Seal of Approval.
Mark began his journalism career at the age of 16 when he worked at a local radio station in Ottawa, Illinois as a radio reporter. In addition to his work experience, he worked at WCCO-TV, a CBS owned and operated station in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as a meteorologist. He also worked at WISN-TV (an ABC affiliate) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he was a meteorologist and weather forecaster.
His experience in all of these locations, including coastal Eugene, Oregon, and Albany, New York, where he also worked as a meteorologist, has given him a diverse experience in regards to his work as a meteorologist. He currently works as a meteorologist for FOX 32 News in Chicago and forecasts the weather during the Good Day Chicago newscast.
