Matt Franklin is an Emmy Award-winning American journalist who currently hosts ABC12 News on Five, Six and Eleven. Prior to joining ABC 12, he served as a reporter and anchor at WLNS-TV in Lansing.
Matt worked on WNEM-TV5 as a reporter. He also worked on WLNS in Lansing as a reporter and deputy anchor. Franklin began working forr ABC 12 News at the Tri-Cities newsroom in Saginaw in June 2004 as a general mission reporter. Matt went on to lead the weekend morning news and First at Four after moving to Flint.
Additionally, Matt covered the changing times in Mid-Michigan, as well as the turnarounds at Delphi Automotive and General Motors. In 2011, he interviewed Vice President Joe Biden in person. Franklin also hosts several events such as the Bay City Fireworks Festival, Back to the Bricks and Flint’s Holiday Pops.
