Megan Newquist is an Emmy Award-winning American journalist who currently appears as a morning and midday news anchor on KSTP Channel 7 News and its sister station. Before joining KSTP News, she landed her first job at KHSL News in Redding, where she spent nearly five years. She then worked at WTVW News in Lexington Kentucky for nearly three years before joining KTSP in late 2010.
Newquist was born and raised in the suburbs of Sacramento, California. She grew up as a very active child who developed a passion for journalism at a very young age. She attended a public school situated in her hometown. Megan then enrolled at California State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication and Journalism.
Megan began her career working as a news anchor and field reporter at KHSL News in Redding, California.
