Michael Lozano is an American journalist who currently works as a reporter for WTVD ABC 11 News. Lozano was born in Austin, Texas but grew up in Garland, Texas.
Michael’s father was a photojournalist in Dallas for 23 years. Seeing his dad go out on breaking news like severe weather, historic events like presidential inaugurations, and catastrophic events like 9/11, and Katrina gave him a wealth of stories growing up.
However, he never recognized how much he appreciated the art of storytelling until he took a leap of faith and chose to major in journalism. He joined the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, where he graduated in May 2017 and headed west. There, Michael worked in Odessa, Texas as a weekend reporter/anchor at BIg 2 News for two years.
Although Lozano has gone to the east coast, he’s not afraid to show his Dallas pride. Michael is an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and a general fan of all North Texas sports teams: Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, FC Dallas and Dallas Stars.
When Michael isn’t working in Fayetteville, North Carolina, he’s probably at the nearest movie theater watching the latest movie or playing something close to a sport. He is also an enthusiastic comic book collector.
