Mickey Guyton is an American country music singer and songwriter who rose to fame with her debut single Better Than You Left Me in 2015, which earned her a Country Music Academy Award nomination for “New Female Vocalist of the Year” in 2016. several EPs like Unbreakable (2014), Bridges (2020), Sister (2019) and Somethin’ Bout You (2022).
Mickey was born and raised in Arlington, Texas, United States. She enrolled in a local public school, where she faced racial discrimination from other families in the neighborhood, which forced her parents to transfer her to a private school. Despite this change, Guyton continued to experience racism. But eventually, she managed to graduate from high school to pursue country music at Santa Monica College. Furthermore, she also studied business and worked at various jobs that allowed her to support herself.
