Mika Brzezinski is a renowned American journalist, liberal political commentator, talk show host and author who is currently co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe morning show. Previously, she worked as a correspondent for CBS News and was also the lead reporter for “Ground Zero” during the morning of the 9/11 attacks.
In 2007, Brzezinski joined the MSNBC staff as an occasional anchor and was later chosen to co-host the show Morning Joe, alongside Joe Scarborough. Likewise, Mika is a visiting fellow at the Harvard Policy Institute. Her greatest political interest is equal pay for women. Brzezinski began her journalistic career as an assistant on ABC’s World News This Morning in 1990. After a year, she joined the Tribune-owned Fox affiliate WTIC-TV/WTIC-DT in Hartford, Connecticut. While there, she progressed from assignment and resource editor to general assignment reporter. Also, in 1992, Mika moved to the CBS affiliate WFSB-TV/WFSB-DT in Hartford and after a short time, she progressed through the ranks and became their morning anchor in 1995.
Likewise, in 1997, she left that role and joined CBS News, where she worked as a correspondent and anchor for the news program Up to the Minute.
