Naveen Dhaliwal is an American journalist who currently works as a reporter for Eyewitness News at WABC-TV in New York. Prior to joining WABC-TV Channel 7, Naveen worked as an anchor/reporter for the News 12 Westchester morning show, where he spent countless hours at the desk during coverage of the storm and the deadliest MTA train crash in Valhalla in 2015.
Dhaliwal always wanted to be a journalist from a young age. She later gave up her career as a speech therapist and joined Rutgers University, where she majored in journalism.
Naveen started her journalistic career at WETM-TV in Elmira, NY, where she was an anchor, reporter and producer. In 2009, Dhaliwal extensively covered the Binghamton American Civic Association massacre.
Dhaliwal’s passion for breaking news and weather solidified during his years at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City, where he worked as a field reporter. She also chased storms during deadly tornado outbreaks.
Her career breakthrough came in May 2013 when she worked 19 straight days after the deadly Moore and El Reno tornadoes, telling stories of heartbreak, survival and resilience. Naveen is also a licensed speech therapist, fluent in Punjabi and loves winter in the Big Apple.
