
Biography of Naz Aydemir
Naz Aydemir Akyol is a Turkish volleyball player who has won a total of nine Turkish League championships, four with Vakıfbank, three with Eczacıbaşı and two with Fenerbahçe. Currently, she plays as a setter for Eczacıbaşı Dynavit and the Turkish women’s national volleyball team. Furthermore, Naz is widely known as one of the best setters in international volleyball. In addition, it also has three FIVB Club World Championships and four CEV Champions League championships.
Furthermore, Akyol was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey where she attended Istanbul Bilgi University for her higher education. Right after graduation, she started her professional career with the Turkish national team, where she played more than 200 times. She also played in 16 CEV Champions League seasons and ended up recording an unprecedented record by playing in the CEV Champions League Final. For a year, Naz played for club volleyball at the senior level, and later became captain of Turkey’s youth team.
As the team’s captain, she led the team to a silver medal at the 2007 World Championship. In addition, Aydemir also led the team to a bronze medal and won the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. Subsequently, she won consecutive Best Setter awards and championships, with her CEV Champions League clubs Fenerbahçe and Vakıfbank. Aydemir also received the tournament’s special Fair Play award. From 2016 to 2017, she won the Champions League gold medal with VakıfBank after her team defeated Imoco Volley Conegliano.
