Nick Griffith is a renowned American journalist who currently serves as the Sports Director and Sports Anchor for Fox31 News. He joined the network in August 2011 and has worked at the network since then.
Nick grew up in Cincinnati and started watching the Reds and Bengals games with his family when he was a kid. He was also raised as a passionate Kentucky basketball fan, with his father taking him to games at Rupp Arena regularly.
Nick was a high school three-sport athlete in his hometown of Madison, Indiana (just outside Cincinnati). During his senior year, he helped his high school baseball team to a 31-2 record and a state championship. He also played baseball for a short time at the University of Miami in Ohio. Nick holds degrees in broadcast journalism and political science.
His broadcasting career took off when his baseball career ended. “When I realized I wouldn’t be able to play sports for a living,” says Nick, “I felt like the next best thing would be talking about sports for a living.”
Nick has over 15 years of sports broadcasting experience, having covered two Super Bowls, several NCAA Men’s Basketball Finals and a National Championship game.
Before moving to Denver, Nick was the main sports anchor for KMBC in Kansas City. Prior to that, he worked as Director of Sports for KTKA in Topeka, Kansas, and KIDK in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
