Nina Mehlhaf is an American journalist who currently works as a reporter and anchor for KGW News. She also co-hosts the morning news on the Sunrise show. Furthermore, she enjoys the opportunity to show all sides of her personality on the Sunrise show. In addition to her anchor duty, she also writes and produces a daily webcast called What’s Happening on our social pages.
Before coming to Portland, she was the main anchor for KTVZ NewsChannel 21 in Bend, Oregon. While there, she won Oregon Association of Broadcasters awards for Best Breaking News Coverage in 2008 and 2011. Additionally, she was honored for her reporting by Oregon Press Women. Before coming to Bend, Oregon, she was a reporter and anchor for KTXL Fox40 in Sacramento, California, where she covered many national news. As a result of her Oregonian roots, she was often sent to cover record-breaking snowfall in the Sierra. A Portland native, Nina graduated from the University of Oregon and attended Jesuit High School in Portland.
Born and raised in Portland, she had an urge to cover news after watching KGW reporters on highway overpasses and Sylvan Hill as a child, waiting for a snowy day. She loves to cook and try new foods and restaurants in town.
