Paul Millsap is a player that you will be satisfied with every time you see him play, not only because of his skill with the ball but also because of his speed and playing ability. By the end of the 2016 regular season, we saw him give his best, and the Atlanta Hawks team received several awards, prizes, and recognition for his outstanding performances.

After the 2016 season, the player wearing the number 4 jersey ended his six-year contract with the Hawks, and in July 2017 he signed a $90 million contract with the Denver Nuggets to stay with the team for the next three seasons. Millsap began his NBA career in 2006 with Utah Jazz, after the team recruited him in the second round of the 2006 NBA Draft to finish 47th overall. Prior to that, he played power forward basketball at Louisiana Tech University.

In his 12-year career in the NBA, Paul Millsap has won several awards and prizes, including the NBA All-Rookie Second Team and an NBA All-Star, which he won four times.

Paul Millsap Bio (Age)

Paul Millsap was born on February 10, 1985, in Monroe, Louisiana. He spent the first years of his life in Denver. His parents divorced when he was very young and his mother Bettye Millsap – a strong-willed and independent woman – decided to move to Denver with her four sons.

In Colorado, she worked long hours to feed herself and her children, but in 1999, about ten years from Louisiana, Bettye decided to move her sons back south after she caught her eldest son John driving her car. She confronted him, but he brushed it off and said everyone else was doing it and it was no big deal.

When the family moved back to Louisiana, she settled in Downsville, a tiny town in the northern part of the state. As Paul grew up, he loved and played soccer, but when the family moved back to Louisiana, he was enrolled at Grambling High School and there were not enough teenagers to form a school soccer team, so he was forced to join the basketball team. Looking back on this decision, Paul said it was the best decision he had ever made.

During his time with the Grambling Panthers High School basketball team, Millsap became the 4th. 247Sports.com considered him a 3-star recruit, he was also listed as a power forward in 31st place and 115th best player in the country.

After high school, he played college basketball at Louisiana Tech for three years (2003-2006). During that time, he averaged 12.5, 12.4, and 13.3 rebounds on each game, enough to lead the nation in rebounds for three consecutive years.

Paul Millsap was the only player in the history of NCAA basketball to lead the nation in the rebound three years in a row. After his junior season, he chose to play in the NBA Draft.

He began playing professionally in the NBA in 2006 after Utah Jazz had dropped him to 47th place in the second round of the 2006 NBA Draft. Later that year, in August of the same year, he signed a contract with the newcomer franchise company. By the end of his rookie season, Paul had played a total of eighty-two games, leading all rookies with 6 doubles, scoring an average of seven points per game, and five rounds back-to-back.

By December 2008, Paul had played a total of 194 consecutive games and scored a career-high of 32 points in a game against Boston Celtic. In June 2009, the Millsap franchise presented a qualifying offer to Millsap, which made him a limited freelancer. The following month, the Portland Trail Blazers offered him a $32 million 4-year contract and a signing bonus of $5.6 million. Jazz matched the offer seven days later (they had the right to do so) and therefore kept Paul on their side until 2013.

In July 2013, Millsap signed a two-year contract with the Atlanta Hawks. In 2014 he recorded his first career triple-double of nineteen points, thirteen rebounds, and ten assists in a game against the Toronto Raptors that ended in a 118-113 extension.

In 2015 he helped the Hawks set a 60-22 record – the team’s best result since the 1993-94 season – and in the same year he received his second consecutive All-Star nod. In July, he signed a three-year contract extension with the franchise company worth $59 million.

Paul Millsap played for the Hawks until July 2017, when he joined the Denver Nuggets team after signing a $90 million three-year contract. His debut game with the team was a match against his former team Utah Jazz, and although the team lost to Jazz, Paul scored nineteen points. In November 2017, he suffered an injury to his left wrist and had to undergo reconstructive surgery that left him on the injury reserve for several months.

His first game after his recovery took place in February 2018, in a game against the Los Angeles Clippers, in which he scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. The following month he scored a season-high of 36 points, which helped Nuggets beat the Oklahoma City Thunder.
