Paxton Boyd is an American journalist who currently works as a multimedia sports journalist for NBC6 South Florida. He is a dedicated and energetic journalist who before joining NBC6 in May 2021, worked at WPEC-TV (CBS12 News) for seven months. Boyd is a proud graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he graduated in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting.
From September 2013 to August 2014, Paxton worked as a sports director, anchor and reporter at KSWT-TV. While there, he produced and anchored sports news for the 6pm and 10pm weekday news. He was also a prime time news anchor and producer. In addition, he developed and produced compelling sports broadcasts with an emphasis on local coverage.
He later worked as a sports director at Local15 and WPMI-TV from September 2014 to February 2016. He also joined ESPN West Palm, WPTV Newschannel 5 and FOX29 WFLX as a sports anchor. While there, he produced, edited and anchored sports news for the 6 pm, 10 pm and 11 pm news. Paxton also worked at WPEC-TV (CBS12 News) as a news reporter in November 2020. However, he left the station in May 2021 to join NBC6 News South Florida as a news reporter.
