Quint Kessenich biography
Quint Elroy Kessenich is an American sportscaster who has covered lacrosse, football, basketball, hockey, wrestling and horse racing for ABC and ESPN since 1993. He is a former All-American goalie in lacrosse. From 1987 to 1990, Kessenich attended Johns Hopkins University, where he was a two-time winner of the Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. Award. as the best goalkeeper in the country. Quint was a member of the famous Mount Washington Lacrosse Club and played a year of professional lacrosse with the Baltimore Thunder in 1999.
In the legendary horse racing town of Saratoga Springs, he made his writing debut for brothers Joe and Sean Clancy at The Saratoga Special, a horse racing journal. He also contributes to the lacrosse journal Inside Lacrosse monthly. On NBC Sports Washington and ESPN3, Quint is a color commentator for the Chesapeake Bayhawks games with Joe Beninati or Scott Garceau.

Quint made global headlines on November 29, 2013, when he interviewed an enraged Bo Pelini at halftime of the Iowa-Nebraska football game, which was televised on ABC, and the Nebraska coach answered a reporter’s question about a couple of turnovers from Cornhusker with “What are your thoughts? Not sure what kind of investigation it is.” The incident came a week after Michigan State Spartans coach Mark Dantonio yelled at Kessenich during a halftime interview.
