Randi Kaye biography
Randi Kaye is an Emmy-winning anchor and CNN correspondent based in New York. She reports for Anderson Cooper 360 while anchoring and reporting regularly for CNN’s Documentary Unit.
Since joining CNN in December 2004, Kaye has covered breaking news and in-depth investigation reports for Anderson Cooper 360. In 2013, Randi covered the President’s inauguration while docking in Washington D.C.
Kaye has also reported on and hosted CNN documentaries about the Los Angeles police manhunt by Christopher Dorner, the Boston Marathon bombing, and the Jordi Arias trial. In 2012, she further covered the shooting massacre at Theater Nine, Aurora, CO. At the same time, she covered the attack on the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek, WL.
However, before joining CNN, Kaye worked for WCCO-TV in Minneapolis, where she hosted the 5 pm and 10 pm news and was also part of the station’s investigative team. There, she covered the government campaign of Jesse Ventura and the arrest of Zacarias Moussaoui, a terrorist.
His television career began at ABC in New York, where he worked on Nightline alongside Peter Jennings for five years. At ABC, Randi covered President Bill Clinton’s campaign in Little Rock, Ark. Soon after, she moved to Arkansas to work at KATV, an ABC affiliate. Still in her capacity, she worked at the ABC affiliate WFAA-TV in Dallas, where she anchored and reported for Good Morning Texas. On KMSP-TV, a Fox affiliate located in Minneapolis, Randi introduced Everyday Living.
She also worked for WWOR, a UPN affiliate located in New York City, where she held the role of anchor/reporter.
In 2006, Randi won an Emmy for her research into infertility drugs sold on the black market. Likewise, she won a GLAAD and NLGJA award for reporting on the Sissy Boy Experiment for Anderson Cooper 360. That was in 2012.
Kaye graduated cum laude from Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism in 1989.
