Randy Meier is an Emmy Award-winning American journalist who currently works as a nightly news anchor on Fox 9, KMSP-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It features the 5pm and 6pm news from FOX 9, as well as FOX 9 at 9pm and 10pm.
Meier joined the network as a 10 pm anchor while anchoring and reporting the 5 pm news on September 26, 2011. He previously spent three years working as an anchor on MSNBC. Randy attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where he majored in mass communication.
Meier has reported and anchored on most of Minnesota’s greatest stories. Some of his notable stories include the kidnapping and discovery of Jacob Wetterling. Randy also won two Edward R. Murrow Awards and a Page One Award from the Society of Professional Journalists for Oil Fields of Dreams. On Fox 9 News, Randy won three Emmys, the 2003 National Headliner Award for Outstanding News, and a National Iris Award.
