Rich Marriott Biography
Rich Marriott is an American meteorologist for KING 5 Morning News, KING 5 Morning News at KONG and KING 5 News at Noon. He was born and raised in California, United States of America. Rick joined KING 5 in 1987 as a meteorologist for the KING 5 Weekend News and was transferred to his current role in 1990.
Prior to joining KING 5 News, Rick worked as a meteorologist for the US Forest Service’s Northwest Weather and Avalanche Prediction Center. While working for the US Forest Service, he provided detailed information about the climate of the mountains. Likewise, he predicted updates to avalanche predictions for Washington and Oregon for government and private agencies, as well as the public. He also won an Emmy Award.
He also worked for the University of London as a station manager during the summers for the Blue Glacier Research Project in the Olympic Mountains.
