Biography of Richard Lui
Richard Lui is an Asian-American journalist currently working for MSNBC broadcasting from 30 Rockefeller Plaza, Midtown Manhattan, New York City, and for NBC News since 2010. Previously, he worked at CNN Worldwide, where he became the first Asian-American man to report daily for 5 years. He is also a DEI speaker, filmmaker, and Citibank alumnus.
Lui was among the top 100 in Mediaite’s News Buzz in their Power Grid Influence Index of TV anchors. Richard is also a bestselling author author from the book, Enough About Me: The Unexpected Power of Selflessness. Lui was also a Senior Visiting Fellow at the German Marshall Fund in the US. He was also Chairman of the Advisory Board of MarianalQ in Palo Alto, California.
He attended the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and earned his master’s degree. He then enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric with honors. Lui also completed a Sociology Program at the Universitat d’Alacant. At City College of San Francisco, he earned an Associate of Science in Mathematics with honors.
He is also a columnist and has contributed to The Seattle Times, Politico, Detroit Free Press, and USA Today.
