Rick Chambers Biography
Rick Chambers is an American journalist who currently works as a co-anchor for KTLA5 Weekend News and Saturday Edition. He joined the KTLA News staff in May 2011. Chambers is a graduate of Southern Illinois University.
Rick is a top-notch, Emmy-winning reporter who has covered Southern California’s greatest stories for over two decades. His first assignment to Los Angeles was in the 1992 riots. Since then, Rick has given his viewers firsthand live reports of the Northridge earthquake, the OJ Simpson trial, the Malibu and Laguna fires, and Ronald Reagan’s funeral.
Chambers also anchored political conventions and interviewed presidential candidates. He interacted with celebrities on the red carpet and spoke one-on-one with journalists of the day. However, he is as genuine and comfortable with the worker as he is with the mayor or governor.
Before coming to Los Angeles, Rick starred on WSVN-TV in Miami and covered everything from hurricanes to the rise of the drug trade in South Florida. Early in his career, Chambers also worked in Louisville, Kentucky, and Harrisburg, Illinois.
Over the years, Rick has been involved in dozens of charitable organizations while organizing fundraising events and award ceremonies for many of them, including the Santa Clarita Valley, where he calls home.
