Rob Hackford is an American multimedia journalist and weekend producer at WGRZ Channel 2 in Buffalo, New York. He joined Channel 2 in August 2020 after spending four years at WSTR in Syracuse, New York.
Hackford grew up in Orchard Park and attended Orchard Park High School. After graduating from Orchard Park, Rob became the student studio director for WTOP 10-TV and a resident assistant at University at Buffalo for a year. He later transferred to SUNY Oswego.
Hackford returned to 2 On Your Side after interning at the station in 2013. In Syracuse, Rob served in a variety of roles, including weekend morning anchor and was recognized multiple times by the regional Syracuse Press Club. Now, he’s excited to be back home and looking forward to sharing stories with residents.
